“We need others to bear witness to our deepest longings, our greatest joys, our most painful shame, and all the rest in order to have any sense at all of ourselves.” Curt Thompson, MD

Attachement Based
Attachment Therapy works with thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and relational patterns that have been suppressed or amplified because of early attachment experiences. Safety and security in relationships is emphasized.

Emotionally Focused Therapy
EFT is known to be a cutting edge, tested and proven intervention for couples, but it is also effective in addressing individual depression, anxiety and trauma. EFT utilizes the principles of attachment science to bring about change.

Interpersonal Neurobiology
This framework gives consideration to human development as a product of the interconnection of the mind, the body, and relationships. This is useful in resolving conflict or trauma as well as growing personal relationships.
About Me

I believe that we all desire to be known and understood, even when we can’t understand ourselves. My hope is for you to experience compassion, understanding, and safety as you share your story.
I am a Licensed Clinical Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master of Science in Family Therapy from Friends University. My training helps me to see people within the context of their relationships and experiences. Giving careful consideration to your concerns, I strive to provide safety and structure as we journey together toward the growth you desire.
I have experience working with individuals, couples and families in the areas of difficult relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, self-worth, and personal and spiritual development. My Christian faith is a source of hope that helps me extend grace and compassion as I walk with others in their time of difficulty.
I am additionally trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, shown by research as one of the most effective interventions for couples in distress. I also have training in the Prepare-Enrich assessment program for strengthening premarital and marital relationships. My previous career experience includes full-time ministry with its unique challenges. I am married and have three adult children.
As we work together, I will provide the stability of understanding and support needed to navigate change.

Individual Therapy
If you are experiencing depression, anxiety, grief, trauma reactions, difficulty in relationships, or other concerns, help is available. Everyone has a story, and yours matters. Understanding the context of your story can help bring freedom and healing. I provide a safe environment in which you are able to share your story, to safely identify and own your emotions, and to experience healing.
Couples Therapy
Healthy relationships involve hard work. It is easy to get stuck in negative cycles of interaction. Therapy can assist you in identifying and taming negative patterns and then building new, healthier patterns of interaction. In relational therapy, I seek to give understanding and hold space for each person while helping you create the connection you desire.
